About

Safe Low Limit is an eclectic jazz group based in Ottawa, Canada that features only instruments pitched in the bass clef! With cello, tuba, trombone and drums the band performs original compositions along with jazz and pop standards arranged in a wide variety of styles. Constantly surprising, Safe Low Limit made a splash in the Ottawa area by performing a concert at the bottom of a drained swimming pool in Vanier Ontario. Since then the band has raised (pun intended) its profile by recording a live video for The Ottawa Citizen, appearing in jazz festivals and releasing a first recording in November 2019 at the National Arts Centre. The album, “High On Low” contains 9 tracks with 6 original songs and includes a cover of Edgar Winter’s 1972 hit “Frankenstein” done in a swing style and a version of “What The World Needs Now” featuring the tuba playing the lead throughout the track.

Truly unique, Safe Low Limit consists of great musicians and performs a fun, interesting show in any venue, from concert stage to entertainment at private events.
